easy
to use
- No
special software required – use any web connected PC (or
Mac etc) - and you don't need to back up. easisites works
entirely from our end – on the web server. That means you can
build and amend your site from any web connected PC, anywhere
in the world
- Online
help. Not only is there a Help
button to use when building your easisites
website, but there’s stacks of information on easi-information
that will answer most of your questions
- Because
new customers may be unsure what to type into the boxes when
creating or updating their website, there are Instant
Help boxes that appear as you mouse over the
entry areas. This saves you opening the normal Help
panel. Experienced users can switch this feature off (you
will find it irritating after a while) by clicking
the Options button
(see below).

- By
clicking the Preview
button on the gold menu bar at the top of the page when you are building
or updating your easisites website you will
see what your site will look like when online

- Once
online sites can be altered/edited as often as required at
no extra cost – ideal for daily updates. You can even change
the site design - without changing your site content - by clicking
on the Style button
on the gold menu bar at the top of the page when you are building
or updating your easisites website, as it says
below...
choice
of site designs
- Choose
from a range of designs
- You
can change your site design whenever you want - by clicking
on the Style button
on the gold menu bar at the top of the page when you are building
or updating your easisites website
- Changing
your site design does not affect the content of your easisites
website, so there's no need to enter information again
standard six pages
- You
can build a standard easisites website of up
to six pages - with the option of increasing to as many
as 24 pages (see options,
below)
password
controlled
- When
you first build and publish your easisites
website - whether you choose to make payment then or at a later
date - you are allocated a password
- Use
this to make changes to your site
- Just
visit your site online, like anyone else would to view it, then
click the special "update this page"
link for entry to the password controlled facility that lets
you make changes

picture
library
- You
can illustrate your easisites
website
using our picture library, covering a wide range of style categories,
or...
upload
your own pictures
NB
All pictures have to be web-compatible - ie. image types JPG,
GIF or PNG. Digital cameras normally produce JPG files
picture
magnifier
- On
your published web site, your uploaded images may look a bit
small. If the easisites system detects
that the image carries more detail it automatically provides
a magnified version when people move their mouse over the picture
clickable menu
- This
is automatically generated by your page headings, either along
the top or down the side of your easisites
web
page - depending on the site design you choose
online
map
- all
easisites websites are linked to Multimap -
so long as you enter the post code of your address in the appropriate
boxes when building your site
- Once
online your customers can find a map of your location by clicking
on your post code (UK sites only)
- Of
course, if you don't want to be found, don't enter your post
code!
enquiries
form
- all
easisites websites have a link to an enquiries
form which your web visitors can use to send you an message,
an order or, indeed, enquiry
- This
is sent to your Contact email address, so long
as the sender provides either a return email address or a phone
number
website
translator
- You
can add a simple translation engine to your easisites
website
- This
will translate your web pages into French, German, Italian,
Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese, Korean and Chinese - and appears
as an horizontal row of small flags which your web visitors
can click

- Bear
in mind that translation engines are very literal beasts. That
said, however, most literal translations can be understood.
Your foreign web visitors will at least get the gist.
- Click
on the Help button
when building or updating to find out how to add this facility
to your easisites website. (It's very simple!)

extras
- To
extend the scope of your easisites website,
there is the facility - available by clicking the Extras
button on the gold menu bar at the top of the page when
you have published and paid for your site -
for you to upload as many as six extra files - effectively six
extra pages. These will appear as click-links
for your visitors
- You
can use this facility to provide order forms for customers
to print out, a price list ... or anything else you can
supply a file for - even a brochure
- You
can provide the files in any format - such as MS Word documents,
jpegs, gifs, MS Excel spreadsheets, Acrobat PDFs, html pages...
any other file type that can be read on the web
- You
can also use the Extras
facility to upload additional pictures to display on your easisites
website
NB
You can increase the number of extras

password

options
-
You will find an Options

or updating your site. You can use this facility to alter
the behaviour of different easisites features:
-

- increase the number of site pages from the standard six -
up to 24 pages
- and/or the number of extras
available to you (see extras
above)
-
set the number of items you wish to sell from your online
shop (see above)
-
choose your own domain name
(see below)
search
engineering
- Your
easisites website is added to prominent search
engines (as part of the service) to maximise web exposure
- Although
we do this for you when you first build, publish and pay for
your site, we recommend that do this for yourself on a fairly
regular basis (say, every three months). Details of how to do
this - with easy click-throughs - are given when you make changes
to your site
local
directory
- We
will list all newly created sites in a local easisites
directory - which any easisites web visitor
can access via easi-Search
promotion
assistance
-
Immediately after publishing and paying for your site online
you are taken to a page that allows you to type in the email
addresses of people you know. Those people are automatically
emailed with an invitation to view your new easisites
website
fraud
proof
- For
extra security, once you have paid for your easisites
website your credit card details are deleted from our files
- There
is nothing to attract hackers.
- By
not storing card details we can’t automatically bill when the
next year is due. We’ll send you a reminder when it’s time
email
encryption to stop spammers
- Spammers
are becoming increasingly irritating so we at easisites are
doing our bit to stop them from harvesting easisites
website owners' emails
- All
emails entered as Contact information (when
building your site) is encrypted on your web pages
- While
email addresses are visible to normal users (useful if they
want to jot it down or write personally), they appear as a string
of code to spam engines
- This
method is reckoned to defeat the majority of harvester programs.
Whilst the harvester could (in theory) decode the string, most
won't because it isn't worth the hassle or the processing expense
domain names
- All
web sites built using easisites are automatically assigned
web addresses or domain names - eg. www.easisites.co.uk/yourcompany
- However,
if you would like your own web address (or domain name) - e.g.
www.yourcompany.co.uk or www.yourcompany.com -
this can be done (subject to availability)
- To
select a domain name, click on the options
button on the gold menu bar at the top of the page when you are building
or updating your site
- Our
charge for a domain name is an additional £25+VAT
per year
- If
you already have a domain name that you want assigned to your
easisites website, this can also be done. Simply
publish your site and contact the easisites
administator (admin@easisites.co.uk)
who'll explain what needs to be done
NB
For more on domain names,
